Target question => What was the highest score?
Let highest score = h
- since test was scored from 10 to 40; then 10<h </=40
- h is 6 points higher than the next highest score so the next highest score = h - 6

Statement 1 => No one taking the test got a score lower than 32
So 32<h</=40 since the next highest score is h - 6, the next highest score that falls within the marking range are 32, 33, and 34 so making the value of h to be 38,39 or 40. Since the answer is not definite, statement 1 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2 => No one taking the test got an even-numbered score
From this statement, all possible scores are odd numbers between 11 and 39. Since this has a lot of odd numbers, the possibilities of the value of h is more than, so the answer is not definite and statement 2 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining both statements together =>
From statement 1 =>
possible value of h = 38, 39 and 40
From statement 2 => there is no even number score
Therefore, the only possible value of h is 39
Both statements combined together ARE SUFFICIENT
