I'm really confused by this PS question. Experts, any suggestion about how can I solve it? Thanks in advance.

Initial miles per gallon = miles/gallon = 270/18 = 15

New miles per gallon that we aspire to = 270/10 = 27

So we need an increase of 27-15 = 12. The answer is C

Currently the fuel mileage of the truck is 270/18 = 15 miles per gallon. If the truck were to use 10 gallons of fuel to travel 270 miles, then the fuel mileage would be 270/10 = 27 miles per gallon. Thus, the fuel mileage has to be increased by 27 - 15 = 12 miles per gallon.

Answer: C
