1)Is y both greater than 0 and less than 1 ?

(1) y2 < y

(2) y5 is positive.

2)If a sequence of positive integers is infinite, it is termed a "beta sequence" if the number of odd integers
in the sequence is finite. If Q is an infinite sequence of positive integers, is Q also a beta sequence?

(1) The first 15 integers in Q are odd.

(2) The number of even integers in Q is infinite.

y=-2,y^2<y

y=1/2,y^2<y

stmt2,

y^5 is positive

-->y>0

But we don't know if it is less than 1.

Insuff

Combining 1 and 2,

y>0 and y^2<y

Only if 0>y<1 the ineqaulity y^2<y is satisfied.
