Formulas for cash flow and the ratio of debt to equity do not apply to new small businesses in the same way
as they do to established big businesses, because they are growing and are seldom in equilibrium.

A) The use of they at the end of the sentence actually describes big businesses
B) This implies that the formulas for cash flow are growing
C) Prefer D over this answer because of its concision. 'Subject to the same applicability' is confusing.
D) Yeah!
E) This inappropriately uses 'they' the same as Answer A
