What's wrong with this sentence?
We have researched a host of materials about this issue, now drawing sound conclusions about how the situation becomes worse.T
he official explanation is that 1) the final descriptor in present tense (now drawing sound conclusions )doesn't fit the opening clause,which is in present-perfect tense(have researched...) However, I still can't figure it out. Does it mean that the time tenses of the two clauses must be the same ? What is the general rule then?
2）the final descriptor seems to modify "adulthood"
but in the sentence below,
"The land of Bahamas was found by Christopher Columbus,naming it San Salvador."The official explanation is that "naming"modifies "the land" ,not "columbus"
It appears that the explanations of the two sentences contradict.Plz help me~~~
