Need Expert Input

by bhupender » Mon Sep 17, 2012 4:35 am
Here goes my brief story.

I have taken GMAT recently and scored 620.I know my GMAT is on lower side however I do feel i stand fair chance because I am very specific about my MBA and post MBA expectations.

First, below are schools I'm targeting

Texas A & M University: Mays
Krannert School of Management, Purdue University
Pennsylvania State University: Smeal
University of Pittsburgh : Katz
Georgia University : Terry College of Business
Eller school of Management : Arizona University

Brief profile:
GMAT 620
Indian
Work-Ex : 4 years 2 month (Will have 5 years by fall 2013) in IT operations, applications automation, projects transformation & transition.
GPA :3.0
EC : Good enough
Post MBA goal : Do not want to change industry. Will look to move in IT consulting or strategy role.
Reason for choosing above schools: I really like their IS concentration structure, student clubs, MBA costs and recruiting technology companies.

Please let me know , how realistic I'm in this regard. What are my chances ?

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Your concern seems to be around your GMAT score. In fact, your score is on average (or just slightly below) for the schools on your list. I don't see the score as being an issue as long as you are able to write solid essays and interviews.

Best,

Stacey
