I just reviewed some of the basic principles of Mathametics tested on GMAT and started my practice by solving OG 13 book. Of all the PS questions which I solved, I am getting approximately 90% correct answers ( along with following the time guidelines of GMAT ).

Is the real GMAT exam similar to this ? Or is the OG 13 Quant portion comparatively easier than the real GMAT?

Moreover, I am planning to give GMAT after 2 months. What other books ( except OG 13, Quant and Verbal )I should practice to ace my GMAT score ?

Thank You

The OG13 questions are retired GMAT questions. So, they were once official test questions. As such, the OG questions accurately reflect the questions you'll see on test day.

Having said that, the GMAT is computer adaptive, so after a few questions, everyone will see questions that pretty much match their abilities (and beyond!). The OG13 has a wide range of questions, from easy to hard. So, to answer your question, some of the questions (those that correspond to your abilities and a little beyond) are similar to what you'll see on test day. The questions that are too easy for you and way too hard for you are questions that you probably won't see on test day.

As far a quant resources go, the OG is a great resource for practice questions, but it is not necessarily the best resource for solutions. For example, one of the great things about GMAT math questions is that they can typically be solved using at least 2 different approaches (one fast approach, and one or more long approaches). The OG often provides the longer (often algebraic) solution. For example, you seldom see the OG use estimation to solve a question, or plug in the answer choices, or rely on some number sense, etc...

Given all of this, you need at least one more GMAT resource that will provide the necessary content knowledge AND GMAT-specific strategies for solving questions quickly and accurately.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Brent
