math testing numbers DS

When testing numbers for DS, I usually find that I could have gotten the right answer if I tested a bit more. DOes anyone have any tips on testing numbers more intelligently and more thoroughly?
Appetite for 700 and I scraped my plate!

I dd about 140 math questions in the past 3 days and keep getting snagged on that
