Hi Linda
Please Evaluate My profile:
GMAT Given twice. First time 580 . Second Time 700(Q50, V35)
Nationality :Indian
Educational Background : Engineer
Work Exp:Worked one year with an IT firm and then started consulting of my own. I have had three clients till date and they are really impressed by the solutions offered by me and by my partner. All three clients have been medium scale industries.
Work Exp will be a 2 years consulting and a year IT till the time I apply.(3 years in total)
GPA: It's been in % and aggregate was a 60%
Extra Circular : Captain of Football team for college and school. Represented college at University Level.
Sports Captain of School
Participated and won awards in Robotics and Quiz Competition at inter college meet.
Social Work: Have worked with old age home and a NGO.

Looking For: Full Time Marketing

Target Schools: Tuck (Dartmouth),Kellogg (Northwestern),Ross (University of Michigan) ,

The other ones which I have taken for back up are University of Texas-Austin,Cornell University (Johnson) and Emory

Which of these seem realistic at this point of time .Also pl suggest which other schools can I target for Marketing ?

Hello,

From the information you've provided, I'd consider your main desired schools to be very high reaches, with Ross the most realistic "reasonable reach." I'd also consider Cornell in that category. Emory and Austin would be on-pars, I believe. Part of the reason is that you are an Indian with a technology background (an over-represented group with high scores). On the other hand your entrepreneurial venture is a potential plus and differentiating factor.

One challenge for entrepreneurs is to clarify how your company will operate for two years in your absence, as the MBA programs will want to feel that you will be focusing full-time on school and not running your business while studying. You may want to look at USC/Marsall and Rochester/Simon as well.
