How to get more mileage of this great site

Stacy,

This is my first time visiting this website. I really appreciate your hard work and suggestions to every individual. I feel that the most common question in this forum is

"What are my chances of getting into a IVy league school ?"

To address this common question, if you can may be rate people's post when they talk about their profile - Rate A (super strong candidate), Rate B(strong candidate) or something on these lines, this will really help you save time and the readers will not ask the same questions, because they will know what it takes to become a strong candidate for a top school.

If somehow we can sort the posts, which describe the super strong traits for candidates for Top B school, that will really help you save time and all of us will get more mileage out of this.

Once again Stacy you have done a great job in answering millions of questions on this forum.

Anyone who agree with me reply please !

The reason Stacy responds the way she does is because each applicant is individual, and you can't take a generic mold to exemplify what you should emulate in order to get into a top bschool. Just because someone has a unique experience and scores an "A" (despite maybe subpar GMATs or GPA or whatnot) does not mean that copying this person will heighten your chances.

Furthermore, despite the fact that I am no expert, I have seen candidates with completely ridiculous profiles asking about chances at H/S/W (a.k.a. no-chance candidates). Stacy always responds to these posts with grace and dignity, trying to spare the candidate some face without coming out and saying, "Are you kidding me?" Inside, I'm personally thinking... "wow, is this person even serious?"

Your system of A, B, C, D would undermine both points.

Thank you for your suggestion. I don't think a strict rating system is appropriate for this forum because the admissions process is quite holistic.

beny makes a great point - each of you is an individual. The MBA admissions process is quite different from other graduate programs. While an excellent score on the LSAT almost guarantees admission to a top law school, you cannot say the same for MBA programs. In our experience we have seen the "perfect" candidate rejected from top programs while someone with a less perfect profile is admitted. Often the difference comes down to factors like stellar work experience and leadership, self awareness and personal qualities, and recommendations that show what a high potential leader this "imperfect" person is. Sometimes what is imperfect makes someone interesting.
