Hey guys...

my gmat is on 16th of novemeber.

I have done OGs
Kaplan Premier
MGMAT
Aristotle SC grail

So with 14 days to go..
where should i move?
what all should i study?
on one hand i dont want to read new books, cos with just a handful days to GMAT (in which one of the days i turn 20 :D ) i would rather not take up a new concept that gets me messed up. on the other hand, i will be seriously bored with the books that i have already done and dont feel like going through them again :/

I gave both my GMAT prep mock GMATs a month back and had a 600 and 660. Then Princeton review screwed my head with a 540( i got only 5 wrong in quant and still got 40) and 570.
A week before i gave the free MGMAT and got 700 and i did not see any question that i had done before (even if i did, i didn't know it at all so was doing it from scratch)

So basically the question is what all do i study in the next 12-13 days??

Thanks :)
If OA is A, IMO B
If OA is B, IMO C
If OA is C, IMO D
If OA is D, IMO E
If OA is E, IMO A

FML!! :/

Give 2,3 full length tests, and revise your concepts.

I would say take 3-4 math tests from gmatclub.com to get used to really difficult math tests. After that, figure out what your weakest areas are and then go back and review those concepts and do as many targeted practice problems as possible. I wouldn't take more than 2 more practice tests, as you might get too distracted about your score and not focus on getting better.

This is a very common problem that people face. I would focus on three major goals. The first is to consult all the notes that you have taken in the past; and re-commit the concepts to memory. Second, I would consult your past practice tests to review right and wrong answers and the underlying concepts within them. Finally, I would plan to take 1 to 2 practice tests per week to reinforce concepts, pacing, strategy etc.

Also, as a former instructor for 3 of the major prep companies, I should tell you to avoid drawing too many comparisions between the scores on prep company A's tests versus that of company B. The scoring algorithms are not identical.

Don't hesitate to ask me any more questions

Richard,

First thanks for giving the guideline. I was actually waiting for someone to tell me this.

I have totally ignored the scores now. after all, one day i have a 570 and a week later i had a 700. So instead i looked at my timing (which has not been a problem so far, touch wood!) and i have worked on what all i felt was my weakness.

I am looking at concepts and going through all the flashcards and rules( i wrote or downloaded). since 3-4 days now. will continue for sure. :)

Also, should i go back to practicing just the OG?

Hello Everyone,

I just want to say "Thanks" to everyone for bringing up this topic. I myself have only taken about three practice tests, and I have also completely ignored the scores. I was told by my GMAT tutor that the scoring algorithms are very skewed. I believe the tutor said "...take the practice test scores with a grain of salt". At first, I was worried about the scores. Now, I focus on my major mistakes.

I myself have to take this blasted thing in less than a month. I am nervous, but I am prepared to end this craziness once and for all. I have had my ups and downs, and I am grateful for the experience. However, it is time to put this one to bed!

Good luck to ALL of you...you are awesome. I know you can do it!
