Geez guys. You have your rights to doubt but no need to attack me. All I can say is that everything I said was true. I know it may sound like it's difficult to believe but I know what I did to study for this. It wasn't easy. I have a full time job and I used all of my spare time to study for this test. I didn't have a life for 3 weeks to get this done.
Maybe there are some factors that helped to prepare. Like I said in the beginning, I'm the type of person who works better under pressure. If I had a lot of free time on my hands I would not get anything done. I also read very fast - it's the best advantage for taking the GMAT. I learned English as a second language when I was a teenager, and I trained myself to read fast. It takes a long time to practice. In college I worked as an English tutor for 4 years, because I learned how to learn the language better. The tutoring job helped me to prepare for the writing/grammar section. I was an engineering student, so that probably helped me to prepare for the math section. If anything, I feel that I'm fairly good at logic, and I think a lot of GMAT questions are logic based.
I know quite a few people who did well on standardized tests without much studying. My mentor never studied and got a perfect score on the GRE. My boyfriend took one GMATPrep test and got 710 on the real GMAT. Everyone has their own ways of studying. You don't have to do it the way I did. A lot of people on this forum are not native speakers of English. I am not either, but I have the advantage of living in America. I'm not sure about other people but most Americans around me didn't need to study a lot to get a good score. Life is not fair. Just do what you can to achieve your goals.
I beat the GMAT in 3 weeks :-D 730 (V40, M49)
This is not impossible. For example, I scored in the 97th percentile on verbal without studying. I took several practice exams to familiarize myself with the question types. My job requires a LOT of writing and I read novels incessantly. I think my lifestyle prepared me to do well on this section.
On the other hand, I studied like crazy for math.
