Folks,

I took the GMAT second time, first time o got the score with 530 (Q42, V22) and second time 470 (Q42, V15).

I knew my verbal is bad, so i concentrated on SC quite a bit neglected CR and RC completely. I took lot of time reading and understanding the passages and ran out of time.

I think my weakness is complete verbal as I need to effectively improve my reading/reasoning skills. I don't want to give up and want to achieve 700. I spent lot of hours in practice but not sure whether i did spent time in constructive way by looking at the score, I think i need to change my preparation strategy.

Need advice !!!

thanks
kps

I think you should also spend some time in math. Starting verbal section knowing you did well in quant will help to boost your confidence.

Here is what i think

Dont leave out any section while preparing.
If verbal is ur weak area, by all means spend more time on it, but make sure u keep in touch with quants too.
And in Verbal try solving all three sc, rc and cr.

These are things that helped me.
U must hv seen a lot of them suggest this : Cr -try and see if u can go through CR powerscore bible and for SC try Manhattan SC guide (if u have'nt as yet)

and these below links helped me analyze while i was studying, suggestions by stacey and ron from manhattan

(try those how to analyze links )

Hope that helps
Good luck

Thanks shalzz9 and uwhusky,

I did all go through the posts you gave and did little analysis.

1) Time management (never took full-GMAT test before exam) and also didn't practice in timed environment. I am planning to use bellcurves or grockit for that. I used grockit, it is very timed and i liked it. yet to try bellcurves
2) I took sometime to read and understand big passages in answering the reasoning questions. i think i am goign to spend time in reading wall street journal and economist.
3) I have to improve my score on quantitative as it is easy to improve and bump my overall score.

I am also planning to read wallsteet journal and economist going forward instead of msn/yahoo news pages.

My goal is get more than 700 to get into my dream B-school.

thanks
