I took the practice GMAT a few months ago through Kaplan at my school (scored well below what I wanted to), but didn't do a single thing to prepare. I now have 2 full weeks to cram for this as I am between graduation and a full-time job. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for the best way to go about the studying in the most efficient way (i.e. what books to use, when to switch over to advanced books, etc.)?

You definitely need to prioritize to work with OG12 or OG11 .Because you have little time you should go for only real exam questions IMO. Also you need to be very attentive to your mistakes and do the best to improve yourself.

Are there areas that you find particularly challenging? FYI - Kaplan tests tend to be lower than actual results.

I initially thought that verbal would be a far greater challenge than quantitative. However, when I got my practice test results back Verbal was stronger by a decent margin (I don't have the specific numbers with me right now).

I think what I will do is:
1) Tear through the book on all the strategies of sections of the regular book I have
2) Go through the Advanced book
3) Review the index cards at the end of every day
4) Go through the entire OG book for the 2nd week
