Just took my first GMAT yesterday, was very pleased with the result, especially as I only gave myself 5 days to study (although I did work about 12 hours a day!).
The first thing I did was take the diagnostic test in the OG and realised I would be fine in the verbal section but needed to work on my quant. In fact I spent 100% of my study time working on my maths, I suppose I just have a natural aptitude for all the elements involved in the Verbal section. I do find it strange though when I see people posting who get Q49 scores with a V40 and say they are disappointed in their Quant score!
For my practice i basically used the OG guide, the GMAT Math Bible and GMATPrep software. I just wanted to post on BTG because although I never posted I learned a lot of valuable information about the test here, and wanted to show my gratitude!
Background - British, 23 years old, graduated with BA (Hons) in the UK last summer, hoping to get onto a fall 2011 MBA course in the USA or London.
