hey guys... i am in a real fix.. i must have solved almost all the questions from all the books on "distance-rate-time" but its logic still eludes me..
CAn anyone suggest me a method for doin those kinda sums with ease..

I desperately need your advice...please help!!Please...

can you be a lil more specific with what you're having issues with? which part of the logic still eludes you?

having a strong basic physics background (especially classical mechanics) really helped me in these types of problems.

Even if i have done the same sum before ..i get stumped if i receive it after 2 days again..Logic of--what to do when 2 objects are moving towards eachother, or movin away from it.. or one chasing the other..nethg and everythg related with distance and rate!!...please help.. suggest me a way or a method to tackle them easily...what is your approach..how to simplyfy them.. i tried the Mgmat method of making a box and ten fillin in d data.. but tat too was not fruitful..

Raunek,

The solution over here is that you understand the basics. You are talking about "relative speed" questions, these are not at all difficult. Post a typical problem you are having trouble with and why you are having trouble with it and I am sure one of the BTG members can give you an answer that clears your doubt.

i have the same problems too ... i found a pretty good solution to different rates problems

separation/ meeting situation
D1 + D2 = D apart

overtake situation
D1=D2

roundtrip situation
Dout + D back

You should go to a library and get a basic algebra book. They have some really great explanations as to how and why things are to be arranged.

Check out algebra by Robert Blitzer.
