Is xy > x^2y^2?
(1) 14x^2 = 3
(2) y^2 = 1

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

I too will go with E

x can be +or - root(3/14) and y can be + or - 1, so combining A and B will give the above values for x and y, different combinations will satisfy and dissatisfy the equation hence E.
