recommender laid off

by vadertrader » Sat Oct 05, 2013 9:14 pm
my primary recommender just got laid off and this dude has known me for 5 years - manager. i have had another indirect supervisor with whom i have had strong connection and 2 years worth of daily interaction on a project and he is currently employed - he could be my choice #2...

getting the 2nd reco from another manager. and these 3 are my only options

does getting a reco from someone who is laid off work against you? mind you, he has a gmail id now that i'll have to use and not an institutional one...

secondly, the reason was downsizing which led to layoffs

please let me know

If he has managed you for five years, i t's totally okay that he doesn't work for the company now. He can be a good choice if he'd write a good recommendation.
