Math v. Verbal Score disparity question

Hey guys long time reader 1st time poster,

I have a question I have noticed a huge disparity between my quant and verbal scores in my practices tests. Although I am satisfied (to an extent) with the scores I am getting I am wondering if the disparity will really look bad when applying. (I am trying to improve quant and hopefully will get there before G-Day)

Taken 4 tests so far scores: 670, 690, 660, 690
But on average I get 30 percentile higher on Verbal than quant, so for recent it was 99% verbal 70% quant. 44Q/46V. Earlier I got

Generally speaking, schools do like to see less of a gap between the verbal and quant scores, but your situation is by no means unique. Your quant score might be low, depending on your focus in the MBA. If you're going for marketing, it's likely not an issue. If you're going for something more quantitative, such as finance or accounting, it might raise some red flags. There is a rumor that top schools have an "80/80" rule, where they like students who scored at least 80% in each section. But, I've had plenty of students with under 80% in a section get into top programs.

Still, keep working on that quant and see if you can get a couple more points - it would make a big difference.

Thanks Jim that is exactly the type of answer I was looking for. Since the highest I have gotten on Quant so far is 77% percentile and that was 4 cats ago, I will be preparing hardcore for it like many others here
