Hi,
Need some piece of advice from you guys.
My Target Score : 700+
Present Score : 490 (Princeton Review Diagnostic Test)
Target Test Date: End of May(Preferrable) / Maximum Mid of June if required.
Backdrop
--------
I am a working professional, have been investing on an average of 2 hours per day in studies, for the past 2 months.
I started my GMAT prep in Jan 2010 with a pre notion that i am good at Maths, as i had already prepared for CAT once, so taking this into consideration I revised my earlier notes and started working out problems from OG 11 and OG 10 , in between took my first diagnostic test where i got a pathetic score of 420, the test which i took was from CRACK THE GMAT.
My analysis of CRACK THE GMAT Diag Test 1 is as below.
Math Section
-------------
I realized that in Maths section, the first 24 problems were worked out properly by me and out of them i got only 3 wrong. After the 24th question I did guessing for the further questions as i had only 5 mins left in my hand of the timeframe(75 mins), also despite guessing for the left over questions i could only complete till Q.30 and couldn't even get a chance to browse through the remaining questions which left my question incomplete.
Gist
---
Q 1 - 24 - Time Take 70 mins - Right - 21 Wrong - 3
Q 24 - 30 Time Taken 5 mins - Right - 0 Wrong - 6
Q 30 - 37 Unanswered
Verbal Section
--------------
In Verbal i found i was very bad at SC and was also running out of time in this section as well, because of RC and CR where i was taking lot of time in reading.
Also, this section was being effected due to the increase in my anxiety levels of the pre-thought that my maths section has been screwed and i was unable to complete that section.
Measures Taken
--------------
To rectify my SC issue i read extensively from lot of materials here and there such as Princeton Review, Beat the GMAT flash cards and Sahil's note, also I worked out OG 11 and 10 (Half) but could realise that i was not improving, may be i was not analysing it properly.
Now yesterday i again gave a Diagnostic Test from Princeton review in which i scored 490 which is abysmal and the pain areas are still the same , though a good 2 months of prep have already passed in between.
Question
---------
So i would need some expert to suggest me whether i require some coaching or is it just because of lack of practice ? If coaching is required then which one to join Princeton Review Hyderabad or Manhattan and if it is not required then should i take a month off from my Job sit back and study, so that i can devout more time on preparation and practice. ???
Also please help in identifying whether the task is doable or not and when should i take the test ?
PLEASE REALLY NEED SOMEONE'S HELP TO GUIDE ME through the right path and approach ????? !!!!!
Thanks,
