Distance= Rate * time
First you need to find the total distance that the car traveled.
Distance= 50 * 5= 250
Now you can setup a ratio
1 gallon/ 30 miles = x gallons/ 250 miles
x=25/3…..this is the number of gallons used on the trip
you need to find the amt of gasoline/ full tank of gasoline…
so (25/3)/ 12…..this equals 25/36
this problem is testing if you know ratios and rate formula…
hope this helps! Also remember to break up the information into pieces so you’re not too confused!
