Scratch paper and pencil tips

by wongee » Sat Sep 29, 2007 2:14 pm
I heard that starting 2006, the paper provided by GMAT is different? Is there someone who can accurately describe what it is like.

e.g. for me the nib of the pencil makes a big difference and would like ot practice with a similar type of instrument. So the things i have heard/read and if someone can confirm what we use:

- Sheet is divided into small squares, which i think is disturbing to the mind....but is this better?
- Scratch board type thing

Thanks

hey thanks!

one more qtn, so the material of the board is plastic (presume if it is erasable). Is it like a whiteboard? so the pen/pencil is more like a sharpie type thing? ugh if so i really hate that and there is no way to practice liek that.

It's more of a laminated piece of paper with a felt tip pen. I believe MGMAT sells samples of these writing utensils on their website...

Yes, it's laminated paper with a pen that writes on the paper - it's not a thick pen such as a Sharpie. It is a little weird, but not too hard to get used to if you practice. We do sell sets of these on our web site, so if you're really worried about it, go get yourself one!

Also, you can't erase (you couldn't before either - the pencils didn't have erasers - and anyway don't waste your time erasing things, just keep working!!) :)
