Follow up

I haven't heard back from the school. The adcom had acknowledged my application and given me 1/15 as the date for decision. What's the best way to follow up? They haven't responded to my follow up e mail. I can, of course, call them and follow up but was just wondering any dos and donts there.

There's no harm in calling to inquire since they said that the decision deadline was the 15th. However, be prepared for them to say "Hold on...." and then say "I don't know what happened, but you've been accepted/rejected." Just be mentally prepared for that scenario.

Can you log into the computer system to see if maybe the decision was posted and an email just didn't go out?
