There are numerous rules for relative clauses but let me start with basic doubts that play big role.

1. The problems I have been working on are among the most complex ones in the field of quantum physics.

2. The problems that I have been working on are among the most complex ones in the field of quantum physics.

Could any expert comment please which of the above sentences is correct and why ? may be both.
