Shall I prepare for GMAT

by bhavya6187 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 12:58 am
Hey guys,

I have completed my engineering 3 months ago with GPA of 2.94/4. I have been working on my startup since and its going good until now. But since I have some extra time in my hands I was thinking of starting to prepare for GMAT from now and take the test
in November.

Will it be possible for me to get a decent MBA degree next year or shall I just wait for a few years before I take up GMAT. If possible, what score shall I aim for?

You should think about gathering a few more years experience. You are going to want to target a high score (relative to school you are applying to) with a below average GPA -the number depends on your goals for schools...

I agree that you should wait a few years before applying to b-schools, but since you have free time now, I think you should start studying for the GMAT. Your scores are good for 5 years. So as long as you plan to apply within the next 5 years, then you'll be all set.
