GMAT MATH - feeling helpless

by mapman » Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:30 am
Hey everyone!

I'm 31 and the last time I saw basic algebra was when I was maybe 16 years old.. I just took a sample GMAT prep test got just about all the math questions wrong.

Where do I even start to catch up??!

Thanks,

MAPMan

Hey mapman I don't this time gap of 15 years would really matter in your preparation. Just go on with your preparation. Try to solve some basic problems before going for any test. check out all the formulae etc. and solve enough problem to boost ur confidence .when u r done then try the papers . you will surely able to solve a lot of them.

I only wanna say " Practice makes a man perfect"

Thanks for the motivation!

I randomly found this site:

https://www.khanacademy.org/

and it is amazing! Also, since I come from a video production background I traded out video work with a local GMAT prep tutor to take his full course. We're doing verbal now, but math is coming soon. We'll see how it goes...

I'm not going to give up!

Dude you have done a good job with this search work..
I visited the link given by you i.e. https://www.khanacademy.org/ and its a coll link . Each and every corner of maths being touched by them in form of video. This will certainly help you to solve problems in a better way and to know all the formulae, complications, magic and tricks of mathematics. You will really feel that maths is just a trick and I hope everyone loves tricks.

And surely don't give up and go for whatever best you can do. Ask me whenever u require any help.
