GMAT Penalty question

by chaiken21044 » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:14 pm
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, you're on the last question of a GMAT section, and you have an answer choice marked, but have not hit "continue" and/or confirmed your answer choice (as you're required to do on all previous qustions) when time expires. Does the answer choice you've marked count as your response, or are you considered to have not finished the section, and are therefore penalized?

It counts. Search through Stacey Koprince's posts in this section and I think she mentioned it in one of her posts.

A similar thing happened with my essay. I didnt click submit when i ran out of time. Didnt know if they had saved it or not. Refused to let it bother me. Focused on the test. Scored a 710 :)

And a 6.0 :D

is this documented anywhere??? you would really have to be down to the wire

so if i'm reading this correctly: you make a selection without clicking confirm-or next button on the LAST question and the time runs out it still counts?

yes, it counts, if you choose your answer but forgot to click 'confirm'

@siownschu: no idea about LSAT though....

If you've made a choice why are you waiting for the system to count that as an answer? You might as well click submit :)
