Networks of blood vessels in bats' wings serve only to disperse heat generated in flight. This heat is generated
only because bats flap their wings. Thus paleontologists' recent discovery that the winged dinosaur Sandactylus
had similar networks of blood vessels in the skin of its wings provides evidence for the hypothesis that
Sandactylus flew by flapping its wings, not just by gliding.
In the passage, the author develops the argument by
(A) forming the hypothesis that best explains several apparently conflicting pieces of evidence
(B) reinterpreting evidence that had been used to support an earlier theory
(C) using an analogy with a known phenomenon to draw a conclusion about an unknown phenomenon

I tend to look at key words when analyzing structure based questions:
(A) forming the hypothesis that best explains several apparently conflicting pieces of evidence
The information was not conflicting - similarities were described.
(B) reinterpreting evidence that had been used to support an earlier theory
There was no earlier theory; the dinosaur was just discovered and the passage describes a way of determining characteristics
(C) using an analogy with a known phenomenon to draw a conclusion about an unknown phenomenon
CORRECT - A comparison was drawn between the modern day bat and the dinosaur
(D) speculating about how structures observed in present-day creatures might have developed from similar
structures in creatures now extinct
There is nothing in the passage about the animals being related
(E) pointing out differences in the physiological demands that flight makes on large, as opposed to small,
creatures
Nope, the passage talks about similarities.

I guess I'll throw that back at you. What questions do you have about the answer choices or explanations?

When reading he passage, I identified that the body structure of the two animals was similar. The scientists concluded this must be because they had similar behavior

I read the prompt and decide what assumption could be for this and try to weaken/strengthen it. But it does not work that well in structure questions.


Kindly also explain the technique to crack the bold face questions

In bats, Blood vessel network dissipate heat. Heat generated by flapping wings.

Recently discovered dinosaur had similar vessel network. Therefore, dinosaur flapped wings too.

My thought process is similar that of Jim's. However, I have paraphrased the question to help you understand how it is drawing analogy.
