Sorry for asking such a detailed question, but I was wondering, is it possible to highlight lines or paragraphs with your mouse on the GMAT test? For example, if there was an RC passage and you were asked to answer a detail question, does the test allow you to highlight the sentence in question as if it were a word document? This would be a huge relief because I have a tendency to stray from the sentence and look at other lines without even realizing it. If I were able to highlight the line I know where to keep my eyes focused and it would help me save precious time on the actual test. Thanks.
No. You cannot do anything to the screen. I personally advocate a move to touch screens that would allow you to mark, highlight, draw etc. but the GMAT software is from circa 1999.
Now you will find that on particular questions on reading comp something is highlighted to draw your attention to it, but rest assured that you will not be the one highlighting it!
I recommend that you practice not being to highlight anything and do not write in your books but use scratch paper. Also, if you have a cookbook stand and you can stand your passages up vertically this will be more like test day.
Sorry to bring the bad news...
