If positive integer, x, is divided by positive integer, y, gives a reminder r and q is the quotient, then x = qy + r, where remainder is a non-negative integer and is always less than divisor.

Example: 7/2 gives a remainder = 1 and quotient = 3. Then 7 = 3 * 2 + 1

So, N = ST + V

The correct answer is C.
