Statement 1 is unsufficient, since X could be 0 or 2..

Statement 2 is sufficient because the only possible solution is 0

from (1) - x^2=2x -> x = 0 or 2
from (2) - x^3=3x -> x = 0 or + or - sq.rt(3)

either 1 or 2 not sufficient alone but from 1 and 2 x = 0 satisfies both. hence, x is not > 0.
