Notice that we can factor 19 from the numerator.

(19² + 19)/20 = (19)(19 + 1)/20
= (19)(20)/20
= 19

Answer: C

Here the best way is taking 19 as a common factor as follows: $$\frac{19^2+19}{20}=\frac{19\left(19+1\right)}{20}=\frac{19\cdot20}{20}=19.$$ This way, we get the answer straightforward. Hence, the correct answer is the option C.

The two terms in the numerator have a common factor of 19. Factoring it and simplifying, we have:

19(19 + 1)/20 = 19(20)/20 = 19

Answer: C
