I worked through Kaplan math workbook in about 3 weeks and it was perfect for re-learning all the basics... my Q score improved from high 20s to low 40s. I am now using the Manhattan books to work on my weaknesses and must say they are excellent. If you already have a pretty firm grasp of maths i'd recommend those.

I thourghly enjoyed using the manhattan prep math book because of its high level of organization. However, I used the book in conjunction with the internet to learn concepts that they did not sufficiently explain.

I have a pretty similar problem and therefore did not want to open a new thread.

I scored 44 in Q on the GMAT and ended up with a score of 710.
The two GMATprep tests yielded scores of 710 (Q 47) and 730 (Q47).

I don't feel confident applying to B-schools with a Q % under 80 and have decided to retake the GMAT.

I did check out a few forums for people in my situation and the feedback seems to be - focus on the basics and getting the first 10 questions right. You are probably making silly mistakes and focusing on the low ROI quant areas such as perm/com/prob under the assumption that you are a master of the basics. Focus on improving your accuracy and speed.

I prepared from OG, Kaplan GMAT premier, Manhattan SC (which incidentally helped my verbal score tremendously) and Kaplan 800 the last time around.

It sounds like the Manhattan Quant workout books would be a good addition for me to hit a 48-49 consistently in Q as well apart from redoing all the other materials I already mentioned. I see mention of a gmat math bible as well. Should I do both? Overkill?

Should I plan on a 8-10 week schedule?

Any suggestions/thoughts? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Manahattan now, their books are great, and their practice problems are challenging. Kaplan is good, I just went through their Math Section in the Premier Program 2009 book. Overall, I would say Manhattan + OG is probably the way to go for a comprehensive review.

I think there is a specific topic about maths books but I did not find it.

I have studied maths for more or less 1 week and I start verbal today.
My only book is OG11 which is a reference. I have already worked all maths questions of OG11 and I am around 10% failure and I learned or re-learned many things and concepts.

I would like to know which additional maths book I have to buy to progress. I heard OG special maths (little easy?), Kaplan, Kaplan 800 or crackMaths. All these names are common among the posts of the forum but I am lost and do not know which one I have to get.
