Improved technology and equipment often result in fewer injuries during high-risk activities such as rock climbing and scuba diving. But participant education also plays a large role in reducing the number of injuries sustained during these activities. People who are poorly trained in these activities run a much higher risk of injury even if provided with the latest and best equipment.

Clearly C should be the answer!
Cant be E as neglegence is no where mentioned.
Also cant be A as there's no mention about importance of factors

IMO A

Answer choices A and C are very close.

C: -The safety benefits of the latest equipment can be offset by inadequate preparation.
Inadequate Preparation is a little out of scope for me. Training would be only one part of preparation involved when undertaking a high risk activity. There might be other parts like route planning, evacuation planning etc. etc.

A: -Training is a more important safety factor than equipment in high-risk activities.
Based on the first premise is conclude that Latest equipments are safer. This is true, provided they people are trained properly, else the people run a much higher rist of injury. Hence training is more important when it comes to safety than the equipment in itself.

Comments please. What is the OA?

IMO : C
D,E - out of context.
B - too extreme.
A - argument nowhere suggest importance.
E - The safety benefits of the latest equipment "can be offset" by inadequate preparation. clearly states the last line of argument.

IMO C.

A - I think the passage means to say that both are equally important and go hand in hand. not that one is more important
B - Can't be inferred, the risk is always there and this says "Do not" - strong words.
C - I can have the best equipment, but without proper training it won't matter.
D - Silly
E - Can't get this anywhere in the passage.
