Hey

I've been lurking on these boards for awhile. I thought i'd post a few weeks before my official test.

I have been studying for about 2.5months.

The first practice gmat, i scored 510 without studying. A week later, i scored 640, so i became overconfident, and my studying was lax for that first month.

My scores have been
510
640
610
600
650

On practice gmat exams. I dont count the 510 because i hadnt studied at all.

I have two weeks, and i want to boost my score to high 600's. I would be OK with a mid 600, but a score over 670 would be AWESOME.

I would be extremely happy if i got a 700 ;)

Here is my study strategy at the moment

Quant

I am creating a "tough" questions practice exam, and redoing it over and over 'till test day. I am adding questions to it, from DS and PS, and i feel this repetition will be important for me, because i am not that great at math.

There are certain types of quant questions that no matter how much i study, i will freeze on test day - for example - complex probabilities. So, i am going to guess the few topics that i am the weakest, and buckle down and solve the other topics meticiously. I think this will give me a solid mid 600, and if i can ace verbal, it will push it to high 600.

Verbal

I have been consistently scoring 31/41 on verbal.

I am doing the Manhattan sentence correction guide at the moment, and i want to boost my score on the next few practice exams.

Can anyone suggest how to boost verbal in two weeks??????????

There is a psychological aspect to the gmat too, and i am working on that as well

I get frazzled if i dont feel good about the first 5 questions, and i need to stop worrying about the SCALING of the score, and whether or not this is a "hard" or "easy" question

I am practicing being in the moment during the exam, and trying to answer each question to the best of my ability, or guessing quickly and having more time for the next question.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Criticisms?

Cheers

Criticisms first: avoid using bad language! We discourage the use of such phrases as the one I edited out of your post.

Thoughts: you seem to be onto something here. Your strategy is pretty good in respect to your target score. I could only suggest maybe thoroughly reviewing the "tough" questions in your database. It doesn't help if you learn a question by heart, it's much better to learn the proper way to approach it.
You seem to be pretty happy with your verbal scores. The SC guide is highly recommended on this forum. For CR, you might want to check out the Powerscore CR Bible, if you can buy it really quickly. It's the best resource for CR apart from the OG's.

All the best!
