Hi Stacy,
10 years work experience in Hi Tech. Currenlty working at leading Telecommunications Company
Masters in Electrical Engineering -US (GPA: 3.4)
Bachelor of Engineering with Honors- UK (Upper Second)
Significant community/extracurricular experience in leadership roles
Interests: Trekking, Writing (wrote colums/ opinions related to diaspora, technology/society), world afairs, teaching/serving as role-model
Applying to part-time Berkeley MBA this year. Applying full-time to Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, Columbia next year if part-time apps. not successful.
Need advice on few Key areas:
1. 670 in GMAT (88 percentile). Q (48) and Verbal (34). AWA- 6 (95 percentile).
Have taken 3x times. Confident that will be able to make 700+ with some practice (and rest before exams) and less burn out on AWA.
Considering taking another shot at GMAT if apps. for part-time doesn't work this year.
Will my apps be viewed unfavorably for taking tests a mutlipled times and hurt my application? Or, will it help if my scores improve and I'm in wait list? Please advise what the best strategy will be if I've some time to prepare for the test this year. Or, would 670 be competitive at top schools if I demonstrate strength in other areas of my apps.
2. Have taken few extension classes and class at Stanford and community college. Got A in all business related classes at Extension and at community college. Class at Stanford has a B+.
However, 1 class at extension program (with a F grade as I wasn't able to give any time due to my work demands at that time). Reporting the extension class would include the failing grade. Will this hurt my overall apps. with such a record. Could I clearly explain the reason for the performance, and demostrate ability to handle similar material by illusrating with a class taken during Masters program.
I am considering reporting all the classes taken after my masters program including Stanford and extension. Please advise whether this enhance my profile or hurt it.
Thank you.
