B is having african which is wrong

C - which without comma generally wrong; which twice - awkward construction
D - run on sentence; wordy construction; Africa which was the land wordier than 'Africa, the land";
E - modifier prob ..see Africa
A vs B - in B symbolizing modifies land bt its tense not very clear (as return is in subjunctive form),

whereas in A - symbolized not only modifies land but also shows past tense
