Hey guys, here's the milky question.

For the farmer who takes care to keep them cool, providing them with high-energy feed, and milking them regularly, Holstein cows are producing an average of 2275 gallons of milk each per year.

"¢provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, the Holstein cow produces
"¢provided with high-energy feed, and milked regularly, Holstein cow produce

I could easily dismiss the other three options. But I can't see why the first of the two is wrong. it's related with the end of the sentence obviously but I can't seem to make the right connection. Any advice?
