Statement 1: If n² is an integer, n may not be an integer.
If n² = 1, n = 1 is an integer
If n² = 2, n = √2 is not an integer

So, statement 1 is not sufficient

Statement 2: If √n is an integer, then n = (√n)² = square of an integer
As n is a square of an integer, n must be an integer.

So, statement 2 is sufficient

Answer : B
