Hypothetical Subjunctive so If I were is better than if I was . Eliminate D and E .

He is the subject pronoun and HIM is object pronoun .

In this case only B uses HIM .

So IMO B

RULE 1: IN SUBJUNCTIVE MOOD VERB IS ALWAYS PLURAL SO WE NEED WERE
RULE 2: I IS THE SUB AND HE IS MEANT TO BE AN OBJECT, HOWEVER THE CORRECT OBJECT FORM IS HIM

This is the case of past subjunctive mood (Hypothetical sentence).

main clause should contain would "were" and subordinate clause should contain would.


Any pronoun comes after verb "to be" should be in the nominative case.

Lay is in the normal form of the verb (Lay, Laid, Laid)

If I were he.

The "were" comes from the verb "to be". "To be" always takes the nominative (subject form) , "him" is the accusative (object form)
