Actually I do not know if I am asking in a proper forum or not while it seems to be just about MBAs, I need a profile evaluation in a business PhD. my profile is:

UG GPA : 3.6 from top Iranian technical university
GGPA: 3.98 from one of top ranked business schools in Iran

GMAT: 690
research experience: 2yrs of RA and 2 papers ready to publish in well known ISI journals
strong LORs from local and almost famous professors(2 of them are my supervisors)
and my list of schools are as follow:

Uinversity of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Missouri-St. Louis
university of north texas
Mississippi State University
University of Texas-Pan American
Binghamton University
Auburn University
Walton College
University at Buffalo
University of Illinois at Chicago

what are my chances do you think?(my biggest concern is my gmat score which I can not do anything about since I can not retake it due to some sanction problems for Iranians)

Dear tahahavakhor,

This forum is focused on MBA programs, so I don't know how much help I can provide you. PhD programs are heavily focused on academic credentials and your rationale for study, meaning your intended focus for research. I think your GMAT and transcripts indicate solid academic credentials, so it comes down to what your research focus is and how well you present your background in your applications. Be sure the schools you are targeting are a good match for you and your intended area of study also.

Good luck,
Lisa

Hi Tahahavakhor,

I too am looking at a PhD program and from what I've found in my research is that your GPA and GMAT is probably fine. I hadn't taken my GMAT when I visited schools over last summer, but I told schools that I thought I would score in the high 600's and that seemed sufficient. I was looking at schools similar to those you looked at and in fact visited a few of the one's you listed. I think for foreign students your command of the English language is an issue that is looked at quite closely, so if you can communicate effectively that will help. As Lisa said - it will be a matter of how well you present yourself through essays and your research interests being a good fit.
