I have been a lurker on this forum for a long time. I took the test twice already.
Attempt1 - 620 - Q 48 V 28
Attempt2 - 680 - Q 49 V 33

Profile: India, Male, 33, Technology [Hardware] Professional with 8+ years of experience.
Education: B Tech, Osmania University ~ 3.2, MS - Missouri School of Science & Technology - 3.0.
Target: MIT Sloan [LGO], Chicago Booth - part time, Berkeley Haas - part time.
Interests: Post MBA focus on Product Development [technology/semiconductor] Strategy.
Extras: Average community volunteer work.

I told my self I will not take the test again after the 2nd exam on 26th August, but I have not been able to completely convince myself. I have started to invest some time on the applications them selves. But I have realized that there is some time in which I can potentially target GMAT verbal and improve another 4-5 points & may be gain another 1 point in Quant.
Fellow Experts, please provide your opinion/recommendation on how much another 30-40 point score improvement will help my profile?

Hi

In your condition, its totally unnecessary to have a retest.
Your score is fine for the colleges mentioned. I don't believe there is a significant difference between a 680 and a 720 on the test for you. The extra 40 points won't help your chances or destroy them.

Spend all your time on essays and possibly interview preparation. School's median GMAT score is not the correct indicator. We believe, and most consultants, that the program's 70-percent-middle is the true GMAT range and for that you are perfectly alright on all aforesaid college.

If post MBA I am considering Consulting as a potential Career Option, how much does GMAT score play a role [I have heard/read that GMAT score plays a role in consulting recruitment]?
