Topic:
"Over time, the costs of processing to go down because as organizations learn how to do things better, they become more efficient. In color film processing, for example, the cost of a 3-by-5-inch print fell from 50 cents for five-day service in 1970 to 20 cents for one-day service in 1984. The same principle applies to the processing of food. And since Olimpic Fods will soon celebrate its 25th birthday, we can expect that our long experience will enable us to minimize costs and thus maximize profits."

The essay:
The author's argument that the cheaper a process, the higher efficient is flawed. It can be in favor for color fill processing, but can not be for producing food. Author bases his conclusion on vague term, like experience of another area of an industry. Experience is illogical argument for minimizing costs for Olympic Food for several reasons.
The main flaw is that author omits quality of food, which they need to buy. For example, if Olympic Food wants to by not expensive food, they can get low quality of finish products. The argument also supposes that if processing becomes faster, it means efficient becomes higher. For color film it is may be true, but for food is not. In this case quality of finish products falls. As a result Olympic Food looses their customers and benefits.
Another flaw is necessary of special technical machines for getting velocity. It also can need extra worker to make process faster. All can lead to extra expanses. It is impossible to determine whether current number of workers deals with body of job or they do not.
The argument can be strengthened if author provided information about ways for getting bigger efficient, not only Olympic Food's experience. For example, low cost of techniques, needing for production. Olympic Food also can involve partners in celebration and shares expenditures. As a results Olympic Food will minimizes their costs.
As it stands, however, the argument is flawed for the reasons indicated.
