Hi. I am a recent college grad with no full-time work experience. I applied to many MBA programs as well as MS in Marketing programs. My goal is to get the MBA but so far, I've already received two rejections. I was, however, accepted into NYU's SCPS Masters in Marketing program for Fall 2009. My dilemma is whether I should spend the money and time to get the Masters or wait to reapply to a MBA program again. Is a masters in marketing worth it? I know that it is from a pretigious school, but it's no Stern. Please advise.

MS in Marketing vs. MBA
Source: Beat The GMAT — Research MBA Programs |
hey.. did you appy to NYU SCPS before or after recommended deadline? I am waiting for their decision...
Thanks for the information..
As far as I know, the reputation for SCPS is just about same as any other NYU schools (excluding MBA from Stern). I personally think it is worth it. However, if you think you have chance to get into any MBA programs, you should go for it.
I applied for Management and Systems in SCPS and did not apply for any MBA programs.
I have 2yrs of full-time experience from a small IT consulting company but I do not think I have advantage to get into well-known schools for MBA.. so instead, I decided to go for Masters.
I think work experience is a huge factor when applying for MBA programs..
Good luck with your decision
