Hi,
Which 1 is correct and why ...
Q1
a. He thought that Mary was taking the exam
b. He thought that Mary would take the exam


Here we are using Subjunective case, so, b isn't correct ?




Q2

• Either I like the job or not.

Which 1 is correct

1) it depends on the intended meaning of the sentence, both look to be grammatically correct.

2) the first one is correct as it maintains the parallelism needed in the either....or idiom.

Q1: doesnt look like subjunctive. subjunctive is used in the context of an order, suggestion, demand, request, wish etc or a hypothetical situation

Q2: 1 is correct. agree with niraj
Either I like the job or I don't (like the job). (replace the missing part to see if makes sense).
