how to improve my gmat score

i have recently given my first gmat exam and i was disappointed with my score of 570.I have been studying regularly for the past 4 months.I feel my problem was maintaining the right pace,the RC section and also few concepts in quant.I want to aim for the top colleges hence i am planning to retake the test after 2-3 months.kindly suggest ways in which i could improve my score to 750.

Hi Tania,
I had a friend with a similar experience. And what worked for him was that he started with a clean slate. It is clear that the approach you used the first time was not effective. There are a variety of things you can change - the material that you are using, your study behavior, studying with a partner etc.

Also, try to start logging down your weaker areas and prioritizing them. It will help you allocate your time and effort efficiently.

I am not an expert but from a jump from 570 to 750 is challenging. It is KEY you stay positive and determined.

Maybe the gurus can weigh in their opinions.

To improve your score, it's important that you identify and strengthen your weak areas. One way to do this is to use an Error Log (aka Improvement Chart) while completing questions from the Official Guide (OG). Also keep in mind that the GMAT is a test of your math and verbal skills AND it's a test of your test-taking skills. So, keep taking practice tests to work on your endurance and your time management skills.
