Upon reflection, my community service has been relatively light. I have participated in events hosted by a professional organization during my undergrad years and a few events at work. How much of a potential problem can this be for an application?

Extra cirricular Activies are considered icing on the cake. It helps present a stronger case. However, if you good work experience under your belt, a good GMAT score and good GPA - you can certainly offset that.

In your case, your music band experience is unique and I'd certainly highlight it in 'Interest' section.

You'll also be surprised that some extracurriculars will come up while you're writing your application. Just make sure to use the rest of your application to stress what you're good at and point out what you'll bring to their MBA program.

If you want to talk about how you can do this further, feel free to contact me directly.
