If 0 represents the center of a circular clock and the point of the clock hand is on the
circumference of the circle, does the shaded sector of the clock represent more than
10 minutes?
(1) The clock hand has a length of 10.
(2) The area of the sector is more than 16PI.
figure : a circle with some shaded area :shading is approximate
my solution :
360->60 min
x degree->10 min
x=60 degree
therefore for shaded area to be more than 10 min the central angle must be >60
now A gives us radius which inturn gives area ie 100pi
now B gives sector area ie 16pi
so now i can say 360 degree->100 pi
x degree--->16 pi
now this gives me 57.something which is <60 and not >60 so i am concluding shaded area is < than 10 min
what is wrong in this
answer is E y cant it be C !!
THANKS
