How to solve ininequality in ||

I take the two conditions of 'same sighn' and 'opposite sighn' for such questions. Sometimes i get right answer and sometime wrong.
What is a better way to solve these, plugging values take more time.

If a and b are integers, and |a| > |b|, is a · |b| < a - b?

(1) a < 0

(2) ab 0

Thankyou for reply, but i want to know whether i can get answer without pluggin?
Pluggin takes a lot of time. or please tell me how i can be fast on pluggin methon.
the time i take is 4-5min. thats why i am worried.
