Hey Priya,

Hope you are doing good.

You have good acads and your professional background looks pretty impressive. Apart from the schools you have short listed, you should also target Haas, Duke, UT-Austin, Kelley, Emory, Texas-Mays & Maryland Smith. As the average GMAT Score for these B Schools fall in between 590-750 range, you have fairly good chance of being accepted.

You are in perfect stage of your career. However you need to cleverly prepare for questions like your rationale behind applying for a specific B school andswitch from IT background to consulting.
The next step for you is to focus more on your application essays & recommendations for these Business Schools. Hence it would be highly advisable to seek assistance from professional consultants for guidance on preparing stellar application and get your essays/scholarship essays evaluated before sending it out along with your application. Feel free to post any other query or concern that you might have. You can also PM me your number for brief discussion over your profile & selection of b-schools.

Cheers!!

Hi Priya,

You have excellent academic credentials and a decent GMAT score. You will easily clear the academic thresh hold of the B-schools you have mentioned. Most of your extra curricular activities happened during your undergrad program. Think of instances from your professional career as well where you might have gone beyond the call of your duty and achieved more than expected. Do a decent job of your essays and you can have a good shot at the schools you have mentioned.

Hi,

Can you please tell me if I have to retake the gmat to improve my chances of getting an admission?

I applied to Tepper,Ross,ISB and McDonough last year..

Got interview call from ISB and then finally dinged.

Waitlsited at McDonough and I am still on waitlist.

Tepper,Ross dinged me without an interview..

Please let me know whether improving my gmat score from 680 will increase my chances?

Also, please note that I wrote gmat throice and I got 680 in my thrid attempt.

First attempt: 600,Second Attempt: 640 and Third Attempt: 680.

If I get a score below 680 in my fourth attempt ,then will this affect adversely? Will this be considered negative by adcom and will this further reduce my chances?

Please help me!!

Thanks!!

Hi

CMU Tepper and Ross are quant focused schools and their average GMAT score (for incoming students) is on higher side. You should consider applying to B-Schools which values diversity, experience and at the same time offers good career prospects.
Considering that you have taken GMAT 3 times, We would not advise to take it 4th time unless you are very sure that you can improve significantly. Though your GMAT score is not stellar, you have constantly improved (600 to 640 to 680) - this would be taken in positive sense by adcom.
If you share your career objective, it will help in selecting B-School.

Hi
You can look at Cornell, UCLA Anderson, Indiana Kelly,Maryland Smith, NTU Singapore, Berkeley Haas.
These schools have varied level of difficulty in terms of getting admit. You can do a bit of research around these schools. Apart from looking at FT ranking, placement records etc; do look for schools which are close to IT industry hubs - it helps in getting a good start.
